Camden Harbor, Winter Schooners

This view of the northeast side of Camden’s inner harbor lies directly below the library.  To the right, the harbor is more bustling, especially in the summer.  The three winter-wrapped windjammers, or schooners, or just “jammers,” are, from right to left, the Mary Day, the Lewis R. French, and the ketch, Angelique.  (Thanks Lewis McGregor for getting the names right–see comment.)

I took this picture a few weeks ago while John ran into the library to return a  book.

  1. hi Louisa,
should be, right to left, Mary Day, Lewis R. French, and Angelique. Or at least always was during the six years I labored, inside the boathouse just out of photo, to left: Bill Cannell’s “American Boathouse” We built and restored classic wood boats.
Meanwhile, I’m glad to have discovered your blog. One of my goals is to wean Camden off the bottle, water that is. Knowing this, Beedy Parker introduced me to your recent water-related post. I’m looking for help, if you have any ideas for me, please: lew@midcoast.com . thank you!

    1. Yes, I think you’re right. That’s clearly Angelique on the far left… How did I miss the green body? Just assumed the trio… You know what they say about “assumed” I’ll bet… Thanks so much, Louisa
