Rain and More Rain
Weather moves really fast here on the coast.
I took this little video several days ago, before we got another two days of rain. AC and I were over at the Snow Bowl so he could chase his ball. Listen to the wind whipping by as well as admiring the amazing clouds moving in fast.
This summer has been the wettest since we moved to Maine in June 2004—17 years ago now.
The lawns and gardens and fields are thriving—though harvesting hay has been a real challenge for the farmers this year.
And today, the sun is bright and shiny!
Lucky you. We are entering our 5th week without rain. Everything’s turning brown, and I am watering the tomatoes every day.
We had droughts like this in recent years too—so all the rain this year is nice, if a bit overwhelming. In what part of the country do you live, if you want to share. No worries if not.
Southern Plains – NE Oklahoma
My dad was from Oklahoma, and I still have cousins there. I did high school in Omaha and married an Air Force officer stationed at Offutt AFB in Omaha. So I understand the plains. And I did love the openness the plains provide—and the big sky. Thanks for sharing. Now I’ll be able to picture where you are.
Nice.
